Frequently Asked Questions

Everything couples and planners ask before booking live music for a Bali wedding — if you don't see your question here, send it to us directly.

How much does a string quartet cost for a wedding in Bali?

Pricing depends on the formation (solo, duo, trio, string quartet, or large ensemble), how many sets you book, and your wedding date — we don't publish a flat rate because every ceremony and reception is arranged differently. Custom arrangements of your songs are included, not charged separately. Message us on WhatsApp or send an inquiry with your date and formation of interest; we reply within 24 hours and follow up with a personalised quote.

How long does a string quartet play at a wedding?

Most ceremonies need 15–20 minutes of music across the prelude, processional, signing, and recessional, while cocktail hour and reception sets are usually booked in longer blocks. We'll help you map the exact moments you want covered when you inquire.

Should we book a trio or a string quartet?

A trio suits a smaller, more intimate ceremony, while a string quartet gives a fuller, more layered sound that fills larger venues and longer reception sets. If you're unsure, tell us your guest count and venue and we'll recommend a formation.

Can you perform at outdoor or cliffside venues in Bali?

Yes — we regularly perform at outdoor ceremonies, including cliffside, beach, and garden venues across Bali. We just need shade for the musicians and a flat, stable surface for instruments — let us know your venue when you inquire and we'll confirm what's needed.

Can we request specific songs or our own playlist?

Yes. Browse our repertoire for ideas, or send us your own songs — we arrange most requests for piano and strings, and custom arrangements are included in every booking, so your processional or first dance can be a song that is truly yours. Send them early: an arrangement needs a little lead time to get right.

Can you play a song that isn't a traditional wedding song?

Often, yes. Pop, film, and contemporary songs can be arranged for piano and strings, and because the performance is instrumental, the melody carries the moment without the lyrics. Send us the song and a reference recording, and we'll tell you honestly how it will translate.

How do the musicians know when to start and stop during the ceremony?

We confirm the order of your ceremony in advance — processional, vow exchange or signing, recessional — and follow cues from your planner, coordinator, or officiant on the day. Because the music is live, the musicians can extend or shorten a piece to match the pace of the walk, rather than a recording that stops mid-phrase.

Do we need live music for cocktail hour as well as the ceremony?

Not necessarily. The ceremony is where live music matters most — it is what your guests hear in a quiet moment and what your wedding film keeps. Cocktail hour is lively and conversational, so many couples choose a lighter formation or a shorter set for it. Tell us which moments matter most to you and we'll suggest what fits.

Do you bring your own sound system?

No, we don't bring a PA or sound system. A close-seated ceremony often needs no amplification; for larger, windier, or more open venues, sound reinforcement is arranged through your venue or planner's sound provider. We share our tech rider in advance so everything is ready before we arrive.

What happens if it rains at an outdoor ceremony?

The safety of the musicians and their instruments comes first. Before your date, we agree on a covered, sheltered spot with your planner or venue; if rain arrives, the ensemble moves there so the performance can continue safely. Piano and string instruments can't be played in the rain, so this backup is confirmed in advance, not decided on the day.

Can we plan everything with you from abroad?

Yes — everything can be arranged remotely. We communicate in English over WhatsApp or email, reply within 24 hours, and confirm your date, moments, and song choices in writing, so the music is settled before you arrive in Bali.

Do you offer a wedding pianist as a solo option?

Yes — piano is one of our most requested solo settings alongside violin and cello, and it's included as standard (not a paid upgrade) in our Duo, Trio, String Quartet, and Large Ensemble formations. See Packages for details.

How far in advance should we book, and is a deposit required?

Popular dates in Bali book out 6–12 months ahead, especially during peak wedding season — we recommend reaching out as soon as your date and venue are confirmed. Deposit terms are confirmed when we send your booking quote.

Do you travel across all of Bali?

We perform across Bali, from Uluwatu and Nusa Dua in the south to Ubud and Canggu — travel fees vary by area and are included in your personalised quote.

How do we check availability for our date?

Message us directly on WhatsApp with your date, venue, and preferred formation, or send an inquiry through our contact form — we reply within 24 hours to confirm availability and next steps.
